Cameras film Lawncrest hold-up

Surveillance cameras in a Lawncrest convenience store filmed an armed robbery there on May 26. Police hope that the video will generate leads to the identity of the bandit.

The crime occurred at about 4:25 p.m. at the Almonte Mini Market, 546 Van Kirk St., when a man pointed a handgun at a 39-year-old woman employee and demanded money. The clerk surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash. The robber ran east on Van Kirk Street.

Police described the robber as an Asian man, about 20 years old, with black hair and light facial hair. He wore sunglasses, a white Eagles baseball-style cap, blue shirt and tan pants.
